Senior Cyber Security Engineering
About the role:
Responsible for building, developing, configuring, and implementing automated techniques and cyber security controls to prevent attacks from malicious threat actors for all Water Corporation systems. Provide guidance to the cyber security lead team and senior management on protective controls used to manage cyber security risk and mentor team members on good security practice. Respond to cyber security incidents to contain, remediate and recover business systems to ensure their integrity and limit the impact of these events and create or modify flaws in cyber security controls to prevent reoccurrence.
What the role will involve:
- Design or validate security configurations and access to security infrastructure tools in alignment with Water Corporation’s cyber security strategy, principles and threat management practices.
- Research, design, and implement cyber security solutions for organisation systems and products that comply with all applicable security policies and standards.
- Analyse, plan and remediate vulnerabilities and threats to Water Corporation systems and participate in identifying and analysing security threats and risks and implement security controls to mitigate threats and risks.
- Provide security advice into changes, designs and design reviews of OT and IT Infrastructure, applications, and OT/IT system communications.
- Respond to cyber security incidents by containing and remediating impacting events to limit effect on Water Corporation systems and analyse weakness of controls that resulted in the impacting event and engineer remediation works to these controls.
Key skills and experience:
- Must be based in Perth, there is no option to work remotely for this role
- Substantial experience in cyber security engineering with exposure to OT environments.
- Exposure to Cyber security architecture practices and methods is highly desirable.
- Business planning, systems analysis, application development or Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) backgrounds highly sought after.
- Knowledge in Risk assessment procedures, policy formation, security attack pathologies and security architecture development and definition
- Knowledge and understanding of cyber security and architecture frameworks such as : ISO 27001/27002, NIST CSF and associated special publications, and COBIT /TOGAF frameworks.
- Knowledge and understanding of People, Process and Technology cyber security controls and their implementation.
