Talent International is currently recruiting Senior Community & Stakeholder Engagement Officer to work for the NSW Government, based in Parramatta (Hybrid). This is a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension, paying between $650 and $750/day + Super.

8 hours per day/ 40 hours per week (excluding break, no overtime will be paid – less than 6 hours will be half day)

About the role

The Senior Community & Stakeholder Engagement Officer plays a key role in delivering high-quality communication and engagement services across major government programs, projects and initiatives.

You will develop and implement communication and engagement strategies, stakeholder consultation, customer information and issues-management activities. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will help build trust, transparency and meaningful community participation.

The role partners closely with engagement colleagues, project teams and external stakeholders to deliver coordinated, inclusive and effective engagement activities that support project outcomes and strengthen community confidence.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver corporate communications and stakeholder engagement strategies and plans.
  • Manage the communication and engagement needs of projects, programs and communities.
  • Establish tools, systems and protocols to coordinate and report on key stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights on stakeholder relationships, emerging issues and engagement outcomes.
  • Provide strategic advice on communications, stakeholder concerns and issues management.
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve significant issues and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Coordinate day-to-day media activities and support ministerial and government liaison in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote open communication and deliver best-practice community and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership behaviours and a commitment to positive outcomes for customers, communities and stakeholders.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as media, communications or public relations, and/or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Strong experience in strategic communications, community engagement and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage complex or sensitive issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
