The Role

As a Senior Calypso Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting complex trading and post-trade solutions across front office, risk, and back-office domains.

You’ll work across both project delivery and BAU enhancement streams, contributing to enterprise integration initiatives, workflow optimisation, and platform modernisation activities. The role sits within a cross-functional agile team and offers significant exposure to both business and technology stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom Calypso solutions using Java and Calypso APIs
    * Build and maintain Calypso workflows, rules, tasks, schedulers, and lifecycle events
    * Support trade capture, confirmations, settlements, risk, valuation, and collateral processes
    * Develop and maintain real-time and batch integrations across enterprise systems
    * Work with API, XML, REST, JMS, and messaging-based integrations
    * Perform impact analysis, root cause analysis, and production support activities
    * Optimise platform performance and support ongoing system enhancements
    * Contribute to Calypso upgrades, migrations, and strategic platform initiatives
    * Collaborate closely with architects, BAs, developers, and business stakeholders
    * Support Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with the Calypso Trading & Risk Management Platform
    * Expert-level Java development experience with Calypso APIs and frameworks
    * Deep understanding of Calypso workflows, post-trade processing, and schedulers
    * Strong SQL, Unix/Linux, and shell scripting capability
    * Experience across asset classes including FX, Rates, Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Repos
    * Experience with messaging frameworks including JMS and MQ
    * Strong integration development experience across enterprise environments
    * Experience working within Agile delivery teams
    * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capability

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Calypso CATT, upgrades, and migration programs
    * Experience supporting high-availability or enterprise-scale platforms
    * Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, or automation practices
    * Exposure to financial regulations and enterprise governance frameworks
