Senior Business Analyst

This large utilities organisation is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a major GIS and data transformation initiative.

This is a high-impact role suited to someone who thrives in complex environments, can navigate multiple stakeholders, and brings strong experience across geospatial systems, data migration, and business process improvement.

Key activities

  • Translate GIS and spatial data concepts into clear business requirements
  • Support large-scale data migration and transformation activities (mapping, lineage, validation, reconciliation)
  • Analyse and map current and future business processes, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Work across multiple teams to align priorities and drive outcomes
  • Facilitate workshops with business and vendors to define future-state processes
  • Assess system integrations, data flows, and upstream/downstream impacts

Skills and experience

  • Strong GIS / geospatial data literacy (spatial models, layers, topology, coordinate systems)
  • Proven experience in data migration projects
  • Solid understanding of system integrations, APIs, and data flows
  • Expertise in business process mapping and improvement
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across complex environments
  • A proactive, outcome-driven mindset with the ability to identify risks and drive resolution
  • Experience working on GIS platform transformation programs – highly regarded
  • Background in utilities, infrastructure, or large enterprise environments
