Senior Business Analyst | Federal Government | Strategic Delivery | Major Systems Uplift

  • Contract: 12 months + 12 months | Based on the discretion of the Department
  • Location: Canberra, ACT | Flexible/ Hybrid
  • Security Clearance: Baseline Security Clearance (Preferred)

We are supporting one of our client’s within the Federal Government space to help drive critical reforms through major ICT transformation programs. This role sits within the Technology Division, tasked with delivering enterprise-scale enhancements to improve core platforms supporting one of their primary scheme.

You will be embedded in a multidisciplinary delivery team working across legacy systems and new solution architecture, with direct access to senior stakeholders and a clear line of impact on digital services delivery. Your position would bring structure to complexity, anticipate downstream effects of change, and influence the direction of solution design.

Core responsibilities of the position:

  • Maintain domain knowledge across legacy and modernised our client’s platforms, processes, and services.
  • Perform quality and peer reviews of solution specifications and design artefacts.
  • Act as the conduit between systems delivery and operational teams, driving alignment across technical and business units.
  • Organise and sequence complex sets of requirements with traceability and cross-functional awareness.
  • Escalate blockers early; offer risk-mitigated alternatives to maintain delivery momentum.

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot ICT/business application incidents using ITSM tools (ITIL-aligned).
  • Proven experience translating technical incidents into clear, actionable language for business stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities across technical and non-technical environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and business reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across multi-disciplinary teams.

Desirable experience:

  • Exposure to accessible design and an interest in inclusive technology development is highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery environments within government or enterprise contexts is advantageous.
