What will you be doing?
As an Azure Platform Architect, you play a crucial role in designing and implementing end-to-end Azure solutions using a Platform Engineering approach to cloud delivery. Collaborating with stakeholders and providing technical leadership to cloud and infrastructure engineering teams, you’ll ensure the successful delivery of Azure solutions aligned with business goals, scalability, and security requirements. Your expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), security best practices, and automation will be critical to the optimisation and delivery of cloud platforms.

How will you help contribute to our success?

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to design end-to-end Azure solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, and security requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams to ensure robust implementation of Azure solutions.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using DevOps, Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC frameworks.
  • Embed security best practices into solution designs, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay abreast of emerging Azure technologies and trends, evaluating the feasibility and benefits of adopting new tools and methodologies.
  • Optimise Azure resources to maintain cost-efficiency and high availability.
  • Generate comprehensive design documentation, ABACs, and operating procedures to support sustainment and operations teams.

What skills does our ideal candidate have?

  • Proven success designing complex cloud solutions spanning legacy infrastructure, cloud, networking, and security domains.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand requirements and articulate technical solutions clearly to stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring engineering teams delivering Azure solutions.
  • Expert-level knowledge and experience developing IaC solutions for production environments, both independently and collaboratively within cloud engineering teams.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure security best practices, identity and access management, network security, and compliance policies.
  • Analytical approach to cost optimisation and continuous improvement, evolving Platform Engineering frameworks and accelerators.
  • High professional documentation standards, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts using written content and diagrams.
  • Passion for emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.

Certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (or similar)
