Senior Azure bot Engineer
We’re looking for a Senior Azure Bot Engineer to join a fast-paced project, enhancing an existing enterprise chatbot by extending its capabilities across multiple business functions.
You’ll be responsible for extending an existing Python-based Azure bot to support additional business hubs, creating reusable integration patterns and ensuring the solution is scalable, reliable and production-ready.
Working alongside an experienced team, you’ll implement new hub workflows, integrate enterprise data sources, improve observability and support deployments, all while maintaining high engineering standards.
Key activities
- Extend an existing Python/Azure bot to support additional business hubs
- Develop reusable onboarding and integration patterns
- Build hub-specific routing, classification and business logic
- Integrate with enterprise platforms including Microsoft Graph and SharePoint
- Enhance Azure infrastructure using existing Terraform patterns
- Improve logging, monitoring, tracing and error handling
- Develop and maintain unit and integration tests
- Support production deployments using safe rollout and rollback practices
- Produce concise technical documentation and handover material
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years’ commercial experience developing backend applications in Python
- Strong experience with Microsoft Bot Framework and Microsoft Teams bot development
- Proven experience delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Hands-on Terraform experience managing Azure infrastructure
- Experience integrating enterprise APIs and Microsoft technologies
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously
- Experience working within existing enterprise codebases and delivering value quickly
