Senior Automation Engineer - VMware / vCenter / vRealize
A leading Financial Services provider is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer with strong VMware experience to join their team on an initial twelve month contract (with good potential of extension).
You will use your solid DevOps background to automate, orchestrate, and manage lifecycle activities across an enterprise-wide VMware platforms including vCenter, NSX-T, and Load Balancing infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in delivering solutions that enable efficient migration, provisioning, and maintenance of compute and related services in a hybrid environment.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications combined with relevant industry certifications
- Proven System Engineering experience within large, complex organisations with a solid understanding of foundational IT concepts from OS internals and networking through to modern application architectures
- Strong experience with VMware platforms including automation of vCenter using tools like PowerCLI or Aria Automation
- Advanced scripting skills using PowerShell, Python, Go or BASH with a working knowledge of RESTful APIs
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills across hybrid environments and multiple consumption models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
Skills and experience in the following will be highly regarded:
- vRealize/Aria Automation and Orchestrator workflow development
- HashiCorp Stack – including Terraform, Packer, and Vault
- Configuration management using Ansible or Chef
- Experience writing CI/CD pipelines and working with test frameworks
This is a Sydney-based role which will require you to be in their CBD or Parramatta office at least two days per week.
