Senior AI Specialist
- 12-month contract + 12 month extension
- Canberra location with hybrid working available – Typically 2-3 days per week in the office
- Australian citizenship required; a current Baseline clearance is preferred
- Strong experience across business analysis, Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI Foundry and responsible AI delivery
This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to help shape how artificial intelligence is adopted across a major Australian Government environment. You will work closely with business and technical teams to identify high-value AI opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions and ensure new capabilities are practical, secure, ethical and aligned with government governance requirements.
Your duties will include:
- Lead discovery and rapid prototyping workshops using Microsoft Copilot, Power Platform and Azure AI Foundry.
- Analyse business processes, problems, data requirements and opportunities for AI-enabled improvement.
- Translate business and AI requirements into epics, features, user stories and testable acceptance criteria.
- Develop process maps, service blueprints and future-state workflows for multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Define human oversight, explainability, privacy, security and governance requirements across the AI lifecycle.
- Partner with product owners, data scientists and engineers to shape model objectives, features and data constraints.
- Support stakeholder adoption through communication, training, change activities and practical demonstrations.
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst within digital or service delivery environments.
- Practical experience supporting AI-enabled products from discovery through to implementation.
- Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Copilot Studio, Power Platform and Azure AI Foundry.
- Strong capability in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, evaluation measures and delivery-ready documentation.
- Understanding of responsible AI principles, including privacy, security, human oversight, explainability, bias mitigation and records management.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Miro or comparable delivery and collaboration tools.
