The role

A major Victorian Government department is seeking an experienced Security Specialist – Identity & Access Management (IDAM) to support a critical uplift across identity, access, governance and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and document the current state of IDAM capabilities, including systems, processes, controls and gaps.
  • Develop the future-state IDAM design, aligned with security, compliance and organisational requirements.
  • Map policies and controls to relevant compliance, governance and audit frameworks.
  • Review and implement RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) models to ensure secure, structured access.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to uplift IDAM maturity across the department.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong security background with proven experience in Identity & Access Management.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as SailPoint and Azure Identity / Entra ID.
  • Experience developing IDAM designs or uplift strategies.
  • Strong understanding of RBAC principles, access governance and identity workflows.
  • Experience with Victorian Government environments
