
Security Specialist
About the Role:
A Queensland Government agency is seeking a Security Specialist to work with its red teaming program. You will plan and execute high-impact exercises across digital, physical, and human vectors, uncover vulnerabilities, and deliver actionable intelligence to strengthen the agency’s cyber security posture. This role includes managing third-party suppliers, providing concise reporting to executives, and driving continuous improvement across all security operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead red team operations, ensuring exercises meet scope, methodology, and reporting standards.

Identify critical weaknesses and translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights for executive and board-level decision-making.

Develop lessons learned, process improvements, and program artifacts to elevate security capabilities.

Forge strong, professional relationships with internal teams, agencies, and vendors to achieve program objectives.

Manage vendor contracts to ensure outcomes are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Apply rigorous program and project management practices, including risk, quality, and resource management.
What We’re Looking For:

Demonstrated expertise in planning and executing red team engagements and proactive assurance projects.

Strong communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

Strategic thinker with proven planning, stakeholder, and vendor management skills.

Experience in complex environments; Queensland Government experience is advantageous.

Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CRTP, GPEN, or CREST highly regarded.

Eligibility for NV1 National Security Clearance.
