Security Engineer / SecOps Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer / SecOps Engineer for a 2-year fixed term contract to support and enhance enterprise security systems within a highly secure, large-scale environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the configuration, monitoring, and operational support of critical security platforms to ensure compliance, performance, and resilience across the organisation. Australian Citizenship is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2/3 support across enterprise security platforms and tools
- Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and access control systems
- Support and manage SIEM, vulnerability management, and endpoint security platforms
- Perform vulnerability scanning, analysis, and remediation planning
- Monitor security events and respond to incidents across the environment
- Support identity and access management controls (MFA, AAA, PAM)
- Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to integrate security solutions
- Assist with security testing, upgrades, and system improvements
- Maintain security baselines, configurations, and compliance controls
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement of security operations and processes
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience – Mandatory
- Must be an Australian citizen (eligible for NV1 clearance)
- 5-7+ years’ experience in Security Engineering / SecOps / Network Security roles
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and security controls
- Experience with SIEM and security tools (e.g. Splunk, Rapid7, Tanium, SentinelOne, CyberArk or similar)
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management and security operations
- Experience working in enterprise or highly regulated environments
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
