Overview
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced IT Security Assessor to join a high-profile federal government project as a project-embedded resource. In this role, you will support Cyber Security Assessments & Authorisation in completing comprehensive system assessments for a key customer. The successful candidate will work alongside internal IT Security teams and existing embedded assessors, evaluating systems classified up to and including SECRET, which may include satellite communications, cloud and hybrid environments, standalone systems, and cross-domain solutions.

This position plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing Defence-level cybersecurity posture, contributing directly to the protection of critical information systems and national assets.

Duties

  • Assess the effectiveness of security controls across a range of classified Defence systems.
  • Produce reports and briefs detailing assessment outcomes using mandatory templates.
  • Attend meetings and workshops to provide ICT security advice and guidance to the customer.
  • Contribute to reporting and briefing requirements of the CSAA and the customer.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Proven experience conducting ICT security assessments within Defence or other government environments.
  • Sound understanding of Government and Defence security frameworks, policies, and standards including the PSPF, ISM, DSPF, and related guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality assessment documentation and security reports.
  • Experience working with systems classified up to SECRET, including cloud, hybrid, and traditional networks.
  • Ability to work with sensitivity, discretion, and professionalism within a high-security environment.
