his position provides strategic leadership in designing, developing, and maintaining robust security architectures that align with organisational objectives, regulatory requirements, and evolving technology landscapes. The successful candidate will enable secure digital transformation while ensuring enterprise-wide compliance and risk management.

This is a highly influential role suited to a seasoned security professional who thrives in complex environments and can translate business strategy into practical, secure technology outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and articulate cohesive cybersecurity architecture aligned to long-term business strategy.

  • Create security blueprints, roadmaps, patterns, and reference architectures.

  • Define security domains, zones, and secure interoperability frameworks.

  • Conduct security assessments and design appropriate control frameworks.

  • Provide expert security guidance across enterprise and operational technology environments.

  • Support architecture governance forums and ensure alignment to standards and policies.

  • Influence executive stakeholders through clear communication of complex architectural concepts.

  • Drive continuous improvement and uplift security capability across architecture teams.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legislative, and safety requirements.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Significant experience as a Security Architect within complex or safety-critical environments.

  • Strong background in delivering security assessments, blueprints, and roadmaps.

  • Deep understanding of enterprise security architecture across traditional and cloud environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to align security to business strategy and risk frameworks.

Highly Desirable:

  • Experience with frameworks such as PSPF, ISM, NIST, Essential Eight, SABSA, and TOGAF.

  • Experience designing secure interoperability across organisational boundaries.

  • Strong understanding of governance, risk, and compliance practices.
