Scrum Master – Defence Technology Program

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support a large-scale Defence technology program delivering cyber and information warfare capabilities.

Working within a SAFe Agile environment, you will help drive delivery outcomes, facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove delivery impediments, and support high-performing technical teams across complex projects.

This role will suit someone with strong Agile delivery experience, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and prior experience working within Defence or Defence Industry environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and PI planning
  • Support teams in applying Scrum and SAFe practices
  • Remove blockers and manage delivery impediments
  • Work closely with Product Managers and delivery stakeholders
  • Assist with backlog refinement, sprint planning, and story development
  • Track Agile delivery metrics including velocity and burn-down reporting
  • Maintain strong JIRA governance and reporting practices
  • Support cross-team coordination and dependency management
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience working as a Scrum Master in Agile/SAFe environments
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within Defence or Defence Industry
  • Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience using JIRA and Atlassian tools
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle processes
  • Current NV1 Security Clearance

Desirable

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent
  • SAFe certification
  • Project Management certifications such as PRINCE2 Agile or PMBOK
