SAP-TM Functional Consultant

Our client is one of Australia’s largest freight rail transport and logistics operators, seeking a SAP-TM Functional Consultant to assist with the implementation of a new billing platform.

This will be a fully remote role on a 5-month initial contract with the possibility of extension, offering market day rates. Candidates will need to be based out of either Victoria or Tasmania with full working rights.

Key responsibilities and deliverables:

  • Work with the SME to assess and confirm best use of SAP TM functionality.
  • Configuration in SAP TM/ ECC and updates to Functional Specifications related to rolling out the billing solution as per agreed design.
  • Develop functional specification and implement configuration/ enhancement for point solutions to extend core SAP capability including.
  • Forwarding Agreement and Forwarding/ Freight Order Management (both Rail and Road)- Planning and Execution.
  • Charge Calculation – TCCS, Rate tables, Scales, Calculation bases
  • TM Integration with SAP and non-SAP systems – E.g. ECC 6.0 for Invoicing, Operational systems to ingest data for FWO creation.
  • Manage SAP technical design and functional unit testing for all end-to-end use cases.
  • Assist with the data conversion from non-SAP to SAP and vice versa for enabling effective integration tests.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams including SAP support partner for solution delivery and build.
  • Support the SME during the solution development with a view to lift and shift to SAP S4 HANA in near term.

Key skills:

  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years previous experience in SAP TM, Logistics-Execution consultant role in a large and complex information technology organisation operating in asset intensive (Rail, Mining, Utilities, Transportation) industries is highly desirable.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in SAP TM, LE modules with SD and FI integration.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in design, testing and support of the development of functional specifications for WRICEF objects.
  • Experience with BOBF, BAPI, BADI, functional modules, EDI and ALE, API interfaces for logistics, event management and billing activities related to transportation management between SAP-SAP and with non-SAP systems.
  • Configured SAP-TM organizational and planning elements, e.g. sales area, equipments, route, freight and transportation units.
  • Broad experience in configuring business partners, integration with ERP customer master, forwarding agreement types, forwarding and freight order types, settlement grouping, PPF, events, action profiles and invoice outputs.
  • Expertise in designing scenarios including order to cash including credit/ debit memo, intermodal rail freight, planning-execution as a logistics provider, 3PL.
  • Configuration experience with SAP TM, LE-TRA, WM/EM/SD/FI integration, AIF, interfaces with third-party applications and ordering portals.
  • Involved in configuration of forwarding and freight order planning-execution, integration of charge types for invoicing in ERP, pricing condition types, output determination, BOBF enhancements, field enhancement and text transfer to ERP.
  • Experience with various Charge Calculation and Settlement scenarios viz. Periodic charges, cash sales, rates escalation, tiered calculation logic, index maintenance, profit center determination.
  • Master data set up and integration (CIF) with ERP, BRF+ for business rules and their upload/ updates.
  • Rail industry and/or asset intensive (mining, utilities, transportation) experience preferred.
