SAP Solution Manager Functional SME, Lead Engineer (Contract)

We’re partnering with a global consultancy delivering into a major financial services client, and are looking for a senior SAP Solution Manager specialist to step into a lead engineering role on a high-impact transformation program.

This is an urgent requirement with immediate start, initially a 3-month contract with strong likelihood of extension.

You’ll play a key role in shaping the client’s future-state monitoring and operations capability, as they transition from on-premise environments to AWS Cloud and evolve from Solution Manager toward Focused Run / Cloud ALM.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the Functional SME for SAP Solution Manager across a complex enterprise landscape
  • Leading the transition from Solution Manager to Focused Run / Cloud ALM, with a strong focus on modern monitoring capabilities
  • Designing and configuring end-to-end monitoring, including system, interface and job monitoring
  • Integrating monitoring and alerting with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow and Grafana
  • Providing technical leadership across a distributed team, onshore and offshore
  • Driving best practice across monitoring, alerting and event management

Key requirements:

  • 7-10 years’ SAP experience, with deep expertise in SAP Solution Manager
  • Strong background in monitoring, alerting and event management within SolMan
  • Exposure to Focused Run or Cloud ALM highly regarded
  • Experience working in AWS or cloud-based environments
  • Background in banking or financial services preferred
  • Comfortable operating as a lead engineer, engaging with both technical teams and stakeholders
  • Must be based in NSW
  • Must hold full working rights in Australia
