SAP HR and Payroll Consultant (November Start)

Our client, a leading organisation in the aviation sector, is seeking an experienced SAP HR and Payroll Consultant to join their team on a 12-month contract starting 1st November.

In this high-impact role, you’ll be responsible for the configuration, optimisation, and support of SAP HCM modules across HR and Payroll. You’ll work closely with business users and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, manage system upgrades, and drive continuous improvement across the platform.

Please note: Only candidates who are able to commit to the November 1st start date will be considered for this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure and maintain SAP HCM modules: OM, PA, TM, Payroll, Benefits, ESS/MSS.

  • Manage and support day-to-day HR and payroll operations, including payroll runs and time evaluations.

  • Analyse and resolve complex issues related to wage types, schemas, PCRs, and absence quotas.

  • Ensure compliance with Australian tax and payroll regulations (ATO).

  • Lead system upgrades, enhancements, and OSS Note applications.

  • Perform data migration using LSMW/BDC and ensure data integrity.

  • Execute thorough testing strategies (unit, integration, UAT).

  • Prepare training materials and lead knowledge transfer sessions.

  • Collaborate with ABAP, BASIS, Finance, and IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.


Essential Criteria:

  1. Proven hands-on experience across SAP HCM modules (OM, PA, TM, Payroll, Benefits, ESS/MSS).

  2. Strong expertise in Australian payroll processing and statutory compliance.

  3. Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex HR/payroll issues.

  4. Experience leading SAP HRM enhancements and system upgrades.

  5. Skilled in data uploads/conversions (LSMW, BDC) and end-to-end testing.

  6. Strong communication skills with a proven ability to deliver stakeholder training and documentation.
