About the Role

As the SAP Functional Expert – HR, you will provide functional expertise across SAP HR, ensuring solutions are designed, configured, tested and maintained to meet business and operational requirements. You will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes across both BAU support and project initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, test and support SAP HR solutions across a large enterprise environment.
  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into functional SAP solutions.
  • Develop functional specifications and work closely with ABAP developers on enhancements.
  • Support SAP upgrades, releases and ongoing system improvements.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide expert support for critical payroll processing.
  • Produce and maintain high-quality configuration documentation, technical specifications and procedures.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve system capability and user experience.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer and provide guidance to internal teams and end users.
  • Participate in solution reviews to ensure designs remain robust, scalable and fit for purpose.

About You

You will be an experienced SAP HR Functional Consultant with a strong background supporting large-scale SAP HR and Payroll environments.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience configuring and supporting enterprise SAP HR solutions.
  • Strong functional knowledge across:
    • SAP HR Organisational Management (OM)
    • Payroll (Australian Payroll highly regarded)
    • Personnel Administration (PA)
    • Time Management
    • CATS
    • ESS/MSS
    • HR to FI/CO Integration
  • Experience producing functional specifications and supporting ABAP development.
  • Strong understanding of SAP integrations and service-oriented architecture.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills across both business and technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting business-critical payroll environments.
