SAP Developer – 6-Month Contract | Auckland based with Competitive hourly rate

We are seeking an experienced SAP Developer for an initial six-month contract. This opportunity will suit a senior developer with strong expertise across ABAP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP and modern cloud-based extensibility.

You will take ownership of technical design and development, contribute to high-quality engineering practices, and support other developers through technical guidance and code reviews.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop and enhance SAP solutions using ABAP and ABAP Objects.
  • Build modern applications and extensions using RAP, SAP BTP and the ABAP Cloud development model.
  • Develop SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 applications supported by OData services.
  • Deliver SAP HANA-based development using AMDP and SQLScript.
  • Design and maintain integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs and REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Lead technical design discussions and provide practical solution recommendations.
  • Perform code reviews, debugging, performance tuning and technical troubleshooting.
  • Maintain strong development standards, testing practices and documentation.
  • Mentor developers and promote consistent SAP engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment.

Skills and experience

  • Extensive SAP development experience using ABAP, including ABAP Objects.
  • Strong experience working in enterprise SAP environments, including SAP CRM and S/4HANA.
  • Hands-on experience with RAP and SAP BTP-based extensions.
  • Knowledge of the ABAP Cloud development model and SAP extensibility concepts.
  • Strong expertise in SAP Fiori, SAPUI5 and OData services.
  • Experience with SAP HANA, AMDP and SQLScript.
