Risk Manager
As a Risk Manager for this large government body you will sit within the Enterprise Risk Branch in the Performance, Risk and Strategy Division, partnering closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Senior Leaders to identify challenges, unlock opportunities, and embed a strong, forward-looking risk culture across the organisation.
This isn’t just about frameworks and reports. It’s about leadership, influence, and building capability across the business.
Key activities
- Prepare and present high-quality risk papers and insights for Executive Leadership and Board Committees
- Provide trusted advice to senior leaders on emerging risks and strategic decision-making
- Shape and embed enterprise-wide risk practices aligned to best practice and organisational strategy
- Manage, coach and mentor a team of risk professionals
- Partner with leaders across divisions to uplift risk maturity and control effectiveness
- Integrate risk into business planning, audit processes and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with Victorian Government Agency partners to design aligned systems, reporting and templates
Skills and experience
- Proven experience as a senior enterprise risk leader or consultant across public sector, corporate or financial services environments
- Extensive expertise in enterprise-wide risk management, governance and internal control assessment
- Strong track record designing and embedding innovative, integrated risk management solutions
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills – you know how to influence at executive and Board level
- Superior communication and presentation capability
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing cross-functional teams
