Risk Manager
- 3-month full-time contract based in Canberra – no remote work – with possible extension

- NV1 Security Clearance required

Role
Are you an experienced Risk Management professional ready to make a meaningful contribution to Defence programs? This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver a comprehensive Branch-Level Risk Management Plan and establish a Risk Review Process in a high-profile environment. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to shape risk frameworks that strengthen governance and decision-making across complex programs.
Your duties will include:
- Engaging stakeholders to identify and develop a Branch-Level Risk Management Plan
- Conducting an environmental scan and identifying existing branch and divisional processes
- Performing gap analysis and assessing risk maturity across teams
- Drafting and implementing the Risk Management Plan and risk assurance processes
- Coordinating and managing the first formal Program-Level Risk Review
- Establishing a forum to support ongoing risk review and reporting
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- 4-7 years of demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, and assurance
- Proven ability to develop and maintain risk registers, with strong attention to detail
- Experience in Defence Program Management and stakeholder engagement
- Proficiency in the use of Predict for recording and reporting risk data
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
