
Red Hat OpenShift Engineer
Our client is a large global consultancy that is seeking an experienced Red Hat OpenShift Engineer to join their Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining enterprise-grade OpenShift clusters on-premises within a private cloud environment.
This is a key position supporting scalable, secure, and resilient container platforms critical to modern application workloads.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) clusters on-prem within private cloud environments
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and management using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or Helm
- Configure and manage key OpenShift components: Operators, Ingress Controllers, Storage Classes, and Service Mesh
- Integrate OpenShift with enterprise infrastructure, network, and security systems
- Ensure high availability, performance, and DR of OpenShift clusters
- Monitor systems using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and similar tools
- Enforce security policies, RBAC, and compliance standards
- Troubleshoot and provide expert support for OpenShift issues
- Document configurations, processes, and architecture
- Stay current with the latest in OpenShift, Kubernetes, and infrastructure best practices
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience deploying and managing OpenShift in on-prem environments
- Strong expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices architecture
- Solid background in Linux administration (RHEL preferred)
- Proficiency with IaC tools: Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi
- Familiarity with CI/CD, GitOps, and DevOps methodologies
- Knowledge of networking (DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls) and storage solutions (e.g. NFS, Ceph)
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools integrated into OpenShift
- Bonus: Red Hat certifications (EX280, EX288)
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Experience with hybrid/multi-cloud OpenShift deployments
- Exposure to Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (ACM) and Quay
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go
