About the Role

As a Project Support Officer, you’ll provide vital coordination and administrative support to project teams, with a focus on project scheduling, risk tracking, stakeholder engagement, and performance reporting. This role will suit someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a team environment, and has a passion for supporting program success across complex Defence projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present project information briefs for governance forums
  • Evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and manage project risks
  • Support assurance boards, review meetings, and quality checkpoints
  • Track and maintain project plans and milestones
  • Provide support in scheduling, budgeting, and reporting activities
  • Assist in managing project assets and commercial tracking
  • Undertake other project-related support tasks as required

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Defence programs, projects, or portfolios
  • Strong skills in project reporting and communication
  • Experience supporting PMOs or senior leaders with status updates
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • Desirable: Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Desirable: Proven ability to influence and drive collaborative outcomes

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Project Management, Business, or related field (desirable)

Eligibility/Other Requirements

  • Work Rights: Australian Citizens only
  • Pre-employment Checks: Police check, references
  • Security Clearance: Must hold or be able to maintain an NV1 clearance
