About the role:

Our client is a large Federal Government agency delivering a major national reform program. Due to program growth, they are seeking two experienced professionals to join the team:

EL1 – Project Planner / Scheduler:

Location: Victoria

Contract length: Initial term until 31st December, strong likelihood for extensions

Working arrangements: Strong hybrid (2/3)

Rate: $602.55 + Super, daily

Eligibility: Australian Citizenship mandatory (Baseline clearance preferred)

EL2 – Senior Project Scheduler:

Location: Victoria

Contract length: Initial term until 31st December, strong likelihood for extensions

Working arrangements: Strong hybrid (2/3)

Rate: $754.20 + Super, daily

Eligibility: Australian Citizenship mandatory (Baseline clearance preferred)

Both roles will support complex program planning, scheduling, dependency management, governance reporting and delivery confidence across multiple interdependent projects. The EL1 role will focus on coordination, planning support, tracking and reporting, while the EL2 role will lead integrated master scheduling and provide senior schedule insights to support PMO and executive decision-making.

You will work within a collaborative PMO and program environment, supporting planning, delivery confidence, governance and executive decision-making across multiple streams of work.

Key responsibilities:

EL1 – Project Planner / Scheduler

  • Support day-to-day program planning, scheduling, tracking and reporting activities.
  • Maintain schedules, registers, actions, risks, dependencies and governance artefacts.
  • Work with delivery streams to capture milestones, updates and key program information.
  • Track progress, escalate risks or issues and support timely resolution.
  • Prepare status updates, executive briefings, committee papers and governance reporting.
  • Support audit, assurance and governance readiness by keeping documentation accurate, current and accessible.

EL2 – Senior Project Scheduler

  • Develop, maintain and refine the integrated master schedule across multiple projects and programs.
  • Manage scheduling across a complex portfolio of interdependent project streams.
  • Partner with the PMO Director, Project Managers and delivery teams to identify and manage dependencies.
  • Conduct critical path, float, slippage, delivery confidence and what-if scenario analysis.
  • Provide schedule driven insights, roadmaps, dashboards and reporting for governance forums.
  • Maintain schedule integrity, including dependency logic, data quality, version control and audit readiness.
  • Support uplift of scheduling and dependency management capability across the PMO and delivery teams.

Key skills and experience:

  • Experience in project scheduling, project planning, PMO, program coordination, governance or portfolio delivery.
  • For the EL2 role, demonstrated experience developing and managing integrated master schedules in complex multi-program environments.
  • Strong understanding of dependencies, milestones, risks, issues, critical path and delivery confidence.
  • Advanced Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tool experience, particularly for the EL2 role.
  • Ability to translate complex project or schedule information into clear insights for senior stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on data quality, schedule integrity and accurate reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive and governance reporting.
  • Experience in government, regulated or large-scale transformation environments will be highly regarded.
  • AGSVA Baseline security clearance or higher is highly desirable.

You may suit the EL1 role if you have strong project planning, scheduling, PMO, reporting or governance experience and are looking to support a major reform program.

You may suit the EL2 role if you are an established Senior Project Scheduler or Master Scheduler with experience managing integrated schedules, dependencies and critical path analysis across complex programs.
