Project Officer x 3
Talent International is currently recruiting 3 x Project Officers to work for the NSW Government, based in Lismore. The position is a 6 / 12-month contract role with the possibility of extension. The role pays $65 – $80 per hour + Super.
7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week
There are two 12-month positions and one 6-month position available.
Position Overview
The Project Officer provides high-quality administrative, analytical, and operational support to ensure the successful delivery of projects and business initiatives. The role contributes to project planning, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring compliance with organisational policies, frameworks, and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and delivery of projects to achieve defined objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, status reports, risk registers, and budget tracking.
- Support the coordination of project activities, meetings, and workshops, ensuring appropriate follow-up and action tracking.
- Conduct research, data collection, and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Prepare high-quality correspondence, reports, presentations, and briefing materials for senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaborative project delivery.
- Monitor project performance, identify issues and risks, and escalate where necessary to ensure projects remain on track.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- Ensure all project activities comply with relevant governance, quality, and reporting frameworks.
Key Selection Criteria / Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in providing project and administrative support in a professional or government environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports, correspondence, and documentation.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, including attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and project management tools.
- Understanding of project management methodologies, frameworks, and governance principles (e.g., PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile) is desirable.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in business administration, project management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Certification in project management (desirable).
