Rate: $1011.78 per day inc super

Talent is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a Queensland Government Department based in Brisbane, CBD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Portfolio Management Improvement stream to deliver successful outcomes across the project, and the Infrastructure Services Division to contribute whole of government priorities.
  • Develop and actively manage integrated schedules, priorities, milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities for the Portfolio Management Improvement Project.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and communication activities across business, project streams, and executive stakeholders to ensure coordinated delivery outcomes.
  • Strengthen ISD teams’ capability and maturity through the development and implementation of a Project Lifecycle Framework, A Governance and Assurance Framework and a Portfolio Prioritisation Framework.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of allocated business change projects, including the development of project briefs, schedules, governance artefacts, and delivery plans.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams and provide leadership across planning, delivery, and evaluation phases.
  • Apply fit-for-purpose project management approaches suitable for a business-led transformation environment.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues, interdependencies, and change impacts, escalating where necessary to maintain delivery momentum.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong project management capability with demonstrated experience managing integrated schedules, priorities, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and governance within complex multi-stakeholder delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams while balancing competing priorities, maintaining delivery momentum, and driving accountability for outcomes.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills across business, and executive stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving capability combined with a collaborative leadership style focused on continuous improvement, team alignment, and successful delivery outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing business change or transformation projects in a complex organisational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high performing teams and maintain consistent output from workers of diverse backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in project and workflow management systems within the Microsoft environment.
  • Significant work experience with large scale / complex infrastructure, building and construction or asset management environment
  • Certification in PRINCE2, Agile and/or other project management methodologies
