Help lead a critical technology transition for a major Victorian council.
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager with decommissioning experience to oversee the strategic retirement of Council systems as part of a large transformation program.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the development and delivery of a whole-of-Council decommissioning plan.
  • Drive strategic direction, risk management and stakeholder engagement across business units, IT, vendors and executive teams.
  • Oversee secure data migration, archival and retention of sensitive Council information.
  • Manage system shutdowns, dependency mapping, infrastructure removal and reporting.
  • Ensure budgets, contracts and asset disposals are appropriately managed and closed out.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and lead post-implementation reviews to inform future improvements.
  • Build a cohesive, high-performing team and model Council’s leadership expectations.

What you’ll bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT plus strong experience delivering complex technical projects.
  • Deep expertise in system decommissioning within a Local Government environment.
  • Strong financial and project management capability (PRINCE2 certification ideal).
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate and build strategic relationships across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience leading specialist teams through complex change.
  • High-level judgement, problem-solving, and ability to navigate politically sensitive environments.
