We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Data Warehouse Migration to lead a major data modernisation program for a large, enterprise organisation within the aviation sector.

This is a high-profile, business-critical initiative focused on migrating a legacy Greenplum Data Warehouse (GDW) to a modern AWS and Databricks platform, including the decommissioning of on-prem infrastructure while ensuring data integrity, performance, and continuity of operations.

The Role

You will take end-to-end ownership of the migration program, working closely with data, engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver a seamless transition to the new platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define project scope, milestones, deliverables, and timelines

  • Develop and execute detailed migration plans covering data assessment, mapping, migration, testing, and validation

  • Identify and manage risks including data loss, downtime, and performance impacts

  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams including data architects, engineers, QA, and third-party vendors

  • Oversee data mapping and validation to ensure integrity, compatibility, and performance

  • Coordinate ETL and data replication tooling in partnership with engineering teams

  • Track progress, manage budgets, and ensure delivery is on time and within scope

  • Provide clear, regular updates to senior stakeholders

  • Drive system testing, UAT, performance tuning, and go-live readiness

  • Coordinate user training and ensure a smooth handover to BAU support teams

About You

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale data warehouse or data migration programs

  • Strong understanding of AWS, Databricks, and modern data platforms

  • Solid background working with ETL, data integration, and migration tooling

  • Excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills

  • Comfortable leading complex programs in enterprise environments

  • Proactive, delivery-focused, with strong risk and issue management capability
