Position Overview
An opportunity is available for an experienced ICT Project Manager to support a portfolio of ICT infrastructure initiatives within a complex Australian Government environment.
Working across multidisciplinary teams, you will lead the planning, delivery and implementation of ICT and infrastructure projects, managing multiple stakeholders, suppliers and dependencies to achieve agreed business outcomes. The role offers exposure to complex technology initiatives and requires a strong balance of project delivery, governance, stakeholder engagement and communication capability.
The environment supports Agile and Hybrid delivery approaches, with flexible working arrangements available where operational requirements permit.Key Duties
- Lead the planning, delivery and implementation of ICT and infrastructure projects.
- Manage project scope, schedules, resources, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Build productive relationships across business areas, technical teams, executives, vendors, service providers and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain appropriate project governance, reporting, assurance and compliance activities.
- Prepare governance submissions, decision papers, executive materials and project status reporting.
- Represent projects at governance forums and communicate delivery progress, risks and issues.
- Manage procurement activities and vendor engagements to support successful project outcomes.
- Develop and maintain key project artefacts, including business cases, project plans, schedules, risk registers, status reports and post-implementation reviews.
- Monitor delivery against agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements.
- Support organisational change and the successful adoption of project outcomes.
- Support benefits identification, tracking and realisation, including transition to BAU, operational ownership and sustainment planning.
- Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams using Agile and Hybrid delivery approaches.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and strong delivery practices.
Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrated experience delivering ICT projects and/or infrastructure initiatives within a complex government or enterprise environment.
- Strong experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including business representatives, technical teams, executives, vendors and external partners.
- Demonstrated experience applying project management frameworks and governance processes within complex delivery environments.
- Experience working with Agile and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience preparing high-quality project documentation, executive briefs, governance papers and status reports.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, manage and resolve delivery risks, issues and dependencies while maintaining focus on successful outcomes.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
