About the role
As a Project Manager, you will provide hands-on leadership across planning, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement activities. Working closely with Commonwealth stakeholders, you will help drive governance processes, support committee forums, and ensure delivery of high-quality project outputs in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.
Your duties will include:
- Managing end-to-end project planning, coordination, and reporting activities
- Supporting governance forums, committees, and capability planning processes
- Preparing high-quality briefs, reports, and project artefacts for senior stakeholders
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigations
- Coordinating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver agreed outcomes
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support capability development initiatives
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Minimum 7 years’ project management experience within Defence or government
- Degree in project management, business, engineering, or equivalent Defence industry experience
- Strong understanding of Defence governance frameworks and committee processes
- Proven experience managing complex projects across the Defence Capability Life Cycle
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise documentation for senior audiences
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working in a strategic headquarters environment
