About the role

As a Project Manager, you will provide hands-on leadership across planning, coordination, reporting, and stakeholder engagement activities. Working closely with Commonwealth stakeholders, you will help drive governance processes, support committee forums, and ensure delivery of high-quality project outputs in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing end-to-end project planning, coordination, and reporting activities
  • Supporting governance forums, committees, and capability planning processes
  • Preparing high-quality briefs, reports, and project artefacts for senior stakeholders
  • Identifying and managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigations
  • Coordinating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver agreed outcomes
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support capability development initiatives

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Minimum 7 years’ project management experience within Defence or government
  • Degree in project management, business, engineering, or equivalent Defence industry experience
  • Strong understanding of Defence governance frameworks and committee processes
  • Proven experience managing complex projects across the Defence Capability Life Cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise documentation for senior audiences
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working in a strategic headquarters environment
