Project Financial Analyst

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Project Financial Analyst to support a large-scale transformation program within a complex enterprise environment.

Reporting to the PMO Lead, you will play a key role in driving financial transparency, governance, and performance insights across multiple workstreams. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced program setting and enjoys working at the intersection of finance, delivery, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Forecasting (main focus)

  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts, budgets, and accruals across multiple initiatives
  • Track actuals vs forecast and provide variance analysis with actionable insights
  • Support cost modelling and financial planning activities

Resource Planning & Tracking

  • Maintain and monitor resource plans, utilisation, and cost allocations
  • Work closely with delivery leads to ensure accurate workforce forecasting

Governance & Reporting

  • Produce high-quality governance reports and executive-level dashboards
  • Maintain RAID logs, financial trackers, and program registers
  • Ensure compliance with program governance frameworks and reporting standards

Tools & Systems

  • Leverage Atlassian tools (Jira & Confluence) to support reporting, tracking, and governance artefacts
  • Build dashboards and reporting views using JQL and integrated data sources

Stakeholder Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with PMO, finance, and delivery stakeholders to provide financial insights
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and data accuracy

About You

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, accruals, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, charts)
  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualisation tools
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence, including dashboards and reporting

Project / PMO Experience

  • Experience supporting large programs or PMO environments
  • Ability to produce executive-level reports and presentations
  • Exposure to Agile and/or hybrid delivery models
  • Understanding of governance frameworks such as P3O, PRINCE2, or Agile
