Project & Engineering Delivery Specialists – Defence Maritime Program

Location: Hybrid – Sydney, NSW

Join a trusted defence consultancy delivering a multi-year transformation within Australia’s maritime capability landscape. This major program focuses on modernising platforms, systems, and delivery frameworks across a highly integrated maritime environment.
We are seeking experienced professionals across project management, systems engineering, delivery assurance, and program support to play a key role in coordinating and executing multiple interdependent workstreams. You’ll work within a structured PMO, collaborating with Defence stakeholders and technical leads to ensure alignment, risk management, and delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & PMO Support

  • Manage the delivery of assigned projects or work packages, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and quality are controlled within Defence governance frameworks.
  • Maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, schedules, and stakeholder maps.
  • Support program-level reporting, including Earned Value Management (EVM), performance dashboards, and governance packs.
  • Facilitate and document regular program review boards, technical working groups, and risk reviews.
  • Monitor delivery milestones and support schedule re-baselining when required.

Engineering & Technical Delivery

  • Coordinate across systems engineering teams to ensure technical requirements are captured, validated, and met across the capability lifecycle.
  • Contribute to or review Systems Engineering artefacts such as Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs), Verification & Validation (V&V) plans, and interface control documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Defence technical standards, interface specifications, and change control processes.
  • Liaise with platform engineering teams and OEMs to track the integration and configuration status of subsystems.

Assurance & Governance

  • Support the development and review of key Defence documentation including ILS documentation, Test and Evaluation (T&E) plans, safety cases, and engineering change proposals.
  • Coordinate Combat System assurance activities to ensure readiness and alignment with capability release requirements.
  • Act as a key interface between commercial, logistics, and engineering domains to ensure integrated delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with Defence project offices, industry partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide briefings, status updates, and decision support material to senior leaders.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with security, export control, and information assurance policies.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering complex Defence projects or programs (experience with CASG/SPO, Maritime Systems, or Land/Navy platforms highly regarded).
  • Proven capability in one or more of the following domains: project management, systems engineering, combat systems, delivery assurance, or PMO support.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • ASDEFCON and Defence Capability Lifecycle
  • Systems Engineering principles (INCOSE, ISO15288)
  • P3M methodologies and Defence project governance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident, professional approach to stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and operate under pressure in a complex delivery environment.
  • NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory.
  • Must be based in Sydney, NSW.
