Project Engineer- Transmission
Our client is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of high-voltage transmission and distribution projects, with a strong focus on design coordination and technical delivery.
This is a project delivery-centric role, where you will take ownership of coordinating design programs across multiple disciplines, ensuring all technical outputs align with project timelines and outcomes. You will work closely with design leads, engineers, and project teams to drive delivery across complex infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the design program across primary, secondary, and civil disciplines
- Develop and maintain design schedules, packages, and delivery timelines aligned to project outcomes
- Work closely with discipline leads to ensure technical designs are delivered on time and to standard
- Support the integration of design, engineering, and construction activities
- Manage and track design documentation, interfaces, and deliverables across the project lifecycle
- Assist in planning resourcing, durations, and sequencing of design activities
- Support project delivery through technical coordination, risk identification, and issue resolution
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment across all workstreams
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering -Electrical
- Experience in design engineering or design coordination within utilities, infrastructure, or energy projects
- Strong understanding of technical design processes across transmission or distribution projects
- Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary design outputs (primary, secondary, civil)
- Strong planning and organisational skills with exposure to project delivery methodologies
- Ability to influence and collaborate with technical stakeholders and design teams
- Background in design environments, with the ability to understand and challenge technical outputs
- Experience in transmission preferred, though distribution backgrounds also considered
- Strong technically, with an understanding of how design translates into project delivery
