An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Accountant to support a major transformation project. This role is responsible for the end-to-end financial management of a complex project environment, providing financial oversight, budget management, reporting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis. It is a contract role through to March 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a complex project budget model, ensuring accuracy of actuals and forecasts.
  • Produce monthly financial reports and provide insightful analysis to project leadership.
  • Prepare governance and steering committee finance reports, including project performance and forecast reporting.
  • Monitor and manage project-specific budgets, ensuring financial integrity and compliance.
  • Reconcile project financial data across multiple systems and resolve discrepancies.

Key Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
  • CA or CPA qualification (or working towards) highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or supporting large project budgets.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and governance processes.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, including complex financial modelling and analysis.
  • Prior Government experience
