The Opportunity

Are you a confident and adaptable Programme Manager ready to lead a complex, high-profile IT transformation programme? Join Wellington Water at a pivotal moment as they embark on delivering a major change programme with a significant business impact. Working closely with the Head of Digital & EPMO, you will oversee the implementation of five core systems to modernise a technology platform.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

In this role, you will:

  • Set up programme structure, ways of working, and ensure effective operations
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure seamless delivery
  • Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and issues to governance groups
  • Manage complex stakeholders and balance competing priorities

About You

Success in this role requires balancing your structured approach with flexibility to adapt. You will provide assurance, instill confidence, and take the business on a journey.

You’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex IT transformations, ideally ERP or multi-systems implementations
  • Skills in establishing and maturing PMO and governance
  • Well-versed in Agile ways of working
  • Effective stakeholder management across all levels, including boards and councils
  • Collaborative leadership with fresh energy

About Water Wellington

Wellington Water is the professional water services provider across Greater Wellington and South Wairarapa. Their job is to provide safe and healthy drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, and ensure the stormwater network is well managed. They’re a multi-council owned entity, tasked to manage the infrastructure and deliver water services to our communities.
