Program Scheduler – Federal Government

Scale by AVEC is looking for an experienced Program Scheduler to support the delivery of a large and complex Federal Government contract.

This is a hands-on scheduling role with responsibility for managing the program schedule end-to-end, providing clear visibility across deliverables, critical path, resources, dependencies and overall schedule performance.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who have worked across defence primes, military suppliers or similarly complex and highly regulated program environments.

Hands-on experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Open Plan Professional (OPP) is highly desirable.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own and manage the end-to-end program schedule for a large Federal Government contract.

  • Develop and maintain complex schedules using Open Plan Professional (OPP).

  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to track and report program performance.

  • Maintain visibility across contractual deliverables, milestones, dependencies and key dates.

  • Undertake critical path analysis, identifying schedule slippage and emerging delivery risks.

  • Clearly communicate schedule status to stakeholders, including where deliverables are behind plan or impacting the critical path.

  • Develop practical mitigation and schedule recovery strategies to keep delivery on track.

  • Manage schedule inputs across multiple program teams and stakeholders.

  • Undertake resource planning and profiling, identifying capacity requirements and constraints.

  • Produce detailed schedule performance, forecasting and progress reporting for Government stakeholders.

  • Work closely with Program and Project Managers to provide accurate schedule intelligence and support decision-making.

About You

You’ll be an experienced Program Scheduler / Project Controls professional who is comfortable taking ownership of complex schedules and providing stakeholders with a clear view of program performance.

To be considered, you must have:

  • Strong Program Scheduling / Project Controls experience within large, complex programs.

  • Proven experience managing a large contract or program schedule end-to-end.

  • Hands-on experience using Open Plan Professional (OPP).

  • Strong experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).

  • Experience developing and maintaining detailed integrated program schedules.

  • Strong critical path, schedule variance, dependency and milestone analysis experience.

  • Experience with resource planning, forecasting and profiling.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify schedule slippage and develop effective mitigation and recovery plans.

  • Experience producing schedule and performance reporting for Government stakeholders.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge inputs and clearly communicate schedule status.

  • Experience within a defence prime, military supplier or similarly complex program environment will be highly regarded.

Working Arrangement

The role is structured around 16 business days of scheduled work per month, with the remaining business days on call as required.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced scheduler with strong EVM and OPP expertise to take ownership of a significant program schedule and provide the insight and direction required to keep a complex contract on track.

This opportunity is being managed by Scale by AVEC.
