Title: Program Manager

This function will work under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex tasks within an integrated workforce. They will liaise with stakeholders of all levels, building good working relationships and providing a point of contact for all enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, governance, and delivery of complex Defence capability projects, managing scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.

  • Coordinate project submissions through capability lifecycle stages in line with the One Defence Capability System.

  • Drive Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) integration and foster strong stakeholder relationships across Defence and industry partners.

  • Maintain and govern project documentation including iPMPs, risk registers, and reporting schedules.

  • Mentor and guide project team members, providing SME support to uplift delivery capability.

  • Undertake structured reporting and decision support to senior stakeholders.

  • Identify and manage project-level risks, interdependencies, and opportunities.

  • Ensure delivery within cost, schedule, and quality thresholds to meet capability readiness requirements

You Will Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in project, program, or product management within Defence or similarly complex government environments.

  • Strong understanding of the One Defence Capability System and Defence governance processes.

  • Proven skills in commercial contract management, cost analysis, and financial oversight.

  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement, resource planning, and risk management.

  • Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring project staff.
