This government agency is a service provider responsible for providing and funding a range of support services to thousands of individuals across Australia. With multiple locations across Canberra, and nationwide, the organisation seeks only the most skilled and professional individuals to assist them in developing programs, policies and initiatives that will improve the quality of life for vulnerable Australians in need.

The Role

Our client is seeking a Program Coordinator, with extensive coordination, secretariat, reporting and documentation skills, to support a software implementation that is essential to the delivery of customer value. This implementation forms part of a major program of work to deliver ICT solutions that will improve the agency’s ability to continue to deliver quality support services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • The coordination of planning and secretariat activities
  • Development of project schedules which balance technical and business requirements
  • Tracking of project activities, including management of plans, risks, issues and key decisions
  • Development and implementation of program strategies
  • Creation and maintenance of reports, analyses and risks/issues registers
  • Facilitation of team meetings and management of team kanban board

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience in program/project coordination, secretariat support, documentation and reporting
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Hands-on program management experience
  • High-level communication skills
  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

Experience in projects, PMO or business administration and competency using SharePoint, Jira and Confluence is desirable.

It is a requirement of this position that the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and either hold or be eligible to obtain a Baseline security clearance.

This is a hybrid role; the successful candidate will be required to work 2-3 days on-site per week.
