About the Role
In this role, the Procurement SME will lead and support the end-to-end delivery of ICT procurement activities, strengthen procurement governance, and advise stakeholders on commercial strategies and contract risk. You’ll be part of a team responsible for shaping procurement approaches, drafting key artefacts, and managing supplier engagement to support the department’s strategic ICT objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop procurement methodologies and contracting options to maximise value-for-money
* Provide expert advice throughout the tendering and contracting lifecycle
* Draft procurement artefacts including Section 23s, Evaluation Reports, and Approval to Proceed documentation
* Manage the end-to-end ICT procurement process
* Support GFx procurement by liaising with internal stakeholders and managing CP & Cloud Contracts
* Administer and resolve issues related to Purchase Orders and invoices
* Advise on procurement risks and contract management strategies
* Mentor and upskill APS personnel on procurement compliance and best practices
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in APS procurement and contract management
- Strong experience across ICT procurement processes and documentation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
- Demonstrated experience in managing procurement schedules and contract lifecycles
- Desirable: experience in Defence procurement or ICT asset management
Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Business, Law, or related field
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Procurement and Contracting (highly regarded)

- Work Rights: Australian Citizens only
- Pre-employment Checks: National Police Check, references
- Security Clearance: Must hold or be able to maintain an NV1 clearance
