We are looking for a capable and committed Program Architect to work closely with the Business Improvement PM and wider Business Improvement teams to ensure alignment to project goals and a fit for purpose architecture is implemented. The program architect will have dual reporting lines, to both Business Improvement and ICT Services whilst spending time co-located with both teams. Where required, the program architect may expand into other projects in the BI and ICT domains.

Responsibilities:

  • Key internal adviser to Business Improvement, ICT Services and business stakeholders
  • Drive common understanding of the problems to solve, proposed phases and feasibility from an architecture/ICT lens
  • Review existing artefacts such as market scan, service blueprint, business requirements to outline key business and technology capabilities required
  • Prepare and present options with pros/cons and recommendations (including cost/time/procurement/delivery/support considerations)
  • Translate ideas, problem statements, and planned timelines into feasible technology options
  • Collaborate with other jurisdictions and suppliers to understand the market, and solutions currently leveraged elsewhere
  • Develop architecture artefacts including presentations and diagrams
  • If a commercial off the shelf product is selected, drive procurement outcomes from an ICT and program perspective, including compiling procurement documentation for tenders, reviewing and evaluating responses
  • Escalate key issues to stakeholders for early remediation
  • Work closely with ICT to understand existing environment, technologies, platforms and their proposed roadmap to ensure fit for purpose, supportable, reusable, interoperable and maximise technology investment
  • Ensure compliance with Cyber Security, Procurement and organisation policies and procedures
  • Present to project boards, working groups and executives as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Program Architect, Lead Architect or Enterprise Architect
  • Aware of industry trends in SaaS applications in the EduTech, CRM, Digital Experience Platforms and School/Customer Engagement sectors
  • IT procurement expertise as a key SME and advisor for complex program(s)/project(s)
  • Prior experience and ability to lead a solution architect (internally and/or externally) when program moves into delivery phase
  • Effective communication skills to consult with a broad range of stakeholders, translating complex information into something easy to digest
  • Skilled use of PowerPoint, Visio and other productivity tools to produce artefacts tailored for the audience

Desirable:

  • Previous experience as a solution architect
  • Strong business acumen and emotional intelligence (EQ)
  • Understanding of Application, Data and Integration architecture domains
  • Prior architecture experience within Government or the Education sector
