
Product Owner
Our client is on a mission to revolutionise their client experience and is looking for a Product Owner to be at the forefront of their digital transformation.
This person will ensure client-facing tools are not only user-friendly and up-to-date, but also strategically aligned with their vision for exceptional client service.
You will work within an agile framework, translating client journey insights into actionable product features. Your contribution will be essential in crafting seamless experiences that elevate client satisfaction and engagement.
Core Responsibilities:
- Own the roadmap for assigned client-facing digital tools, ensuring alignment with the overall client experience strategy, business goals, and compliance requirements.
- Translate client journey maps and feature requirements into actionable product roadmaps, epics, and user stories that guide development teams.
- Accountable for acceptance criteria for product features and rigorous user acceptance testing (UAT) processes to ensure quality standards are met.
- Continually refine and prioritise the product backlog, making trade-off decisions to maximize business value delivered, while ensuring technical feasibility.
- Lead stakeholder management, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery that meets the needs of clients and the business.
- Engage in change management and support business communication initiatives to facilitate adoption of new features and enhance overall client experience.
Required Skills:
- Strong, proven experience as a Product Owner ideally within a financial services environment.
- Experience working on client-facing digital tools and can work closely with in-house technology teams to ensure architectural compatibility and technical feasibility.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and ability to leverage them effectively.
- Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
- Ability to translate complex client journey maps and business requirements into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a knack for influencing diverse teams across business, technology, and client-facing functions.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to define, interpret, and track product metrics to gauge success.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Familiarity with New Zealand’s financial services regulatory framework, including FMA and AML/CFT obligations.
- Relevant Agile or product management certifications (e.g., PSPO, CSPO, SAFe).
- Experience in facilitating workshops, retrospectives, and cross-functional collaboration sessions.

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in digital product environments.
