Procurement Officer/ Sourcing Specialist - Grade 6

Talent International is currently recruiting Procurement Officer/ Sourcing Specialist – Grade 6 to work for the NSW Government, based in Burwood (Hybrid). This is a contract until the 30th of Dec, with the possibility of extension, paying between $55 and $60/day plus Super.

8 hours per day/ 40 hours per week (excluding break, no overtime will be paid – less than 6 hours will be half day)

About the role

As a Procurement Officer / Sourcing Specialist, you will support operational sourcing activities by managing goods and services sourcing events, processing purchase orders and providing procurement advice to internal stakeholders.

You will work closely with teams across Finance, Procurement Services, the Solution Centre and Centre of Excellence to deliver high-quality customer service, support process improvements and achieve timely procurement outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing activities for goods and services.
  • Prepare, draft and manage RFQs, RFPs and associated sourcing documentation.
  • Assist with drafting procurement contracts and supporting documentation.
  • Process purchase orders accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Conduct sourcing activities using systems such as Beeline, Guided Buy and ARIBA.
  • Provide procurement advice and support to internal business stakeholders.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve sourcing, system and process issues.
  • Support customers with procurement system and process adoption.
  • Maintain a high-volume workload while delivering accurate, responsive and professional service.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute effectively within an agile team environment.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience managing goods and services sourcing events.
  • Experience preparing RFQs, RFPs and procurement contracts.
  • Knowledge of procure-to-pay processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, customer service and communication skills.
  • A high level of integrity, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • A proactive, flexible and positive approach to working in a changing environment.
  • Experience with ARIBA and/or SAP is preferred, but not essential.
  • Previous NSW Government or broader government experience is desirable.

Experience in supply chain, inventory, materials planning or warehousing is not required for this role.
