Our client, a leading national organisation delivering critical technology and infrastructure programs, is seeking an experienced Commercial and Procurement Specialist to support them with a major technology program. This is a 12-month contract with possibility for extension. This position will work closely with defence vendors and requires Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain security clearance.

You will be responsible for leading commercial and procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring value-for-money outcomes in accordance with requirements and given frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on commercial and procurement strategies to support program delivery and vendor performance
  • Manage supplier relationships and ensure compliance with contractual and performance obligations
  • Develop and maintain contract management plans in line with governance and policy requirements
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks, providing reporting and recommendations to governance boards
  • Support negotiation and change management activities with major vendors and delivery partners
  • Partner with engineering, legal, and finance teams to drive commercial assurance and alignment
  • Provide commercial oversight of technical and project delivery activities.

Key Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract management, and commercial governance across complex public sector or infrastructure programs
  • Strong knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules and value-for-money principles
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale vendor relationships and contract negotiations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with a collaborative approach
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field
  • Must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a National Security Clearance
