🚀 About the Role

We’re looking for a Privacy Specialist to join a major data resilience program, focused on improving how sensitive data is classified, governed, and managed.

This is a highly advisory role – you won’t be hands-on technical or acting as a lawyer. Instead, you’ll guide how the organisation approaches privacy, data classification, and risk, ensuring decisions are practical, compliant, and defensible.

You’ll work closely with an M365 Specialist, forming a partnership between technical delivery and privacy governance.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define and guide the data classification approach across the organisation
  • Lead and deliver Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs/DPIAs) end-to-end
  • Help shape and uplift privacy frameworks, policies, and handling rules
  • Advise on privacy risks, controls, and mitigation strategies
  • Support decisions on how sensitive data should be managed, retained, or removed
  • Ensure all decisions are clearly documented and audit-ready
  • Engage regularly with Architecture and the Chief Data Officer (CDO)

🧠 What You’ll Bring

Must-have:

  • Strong experience in privacy, data protection, or risk/compliance
  • Proven experience delivering PIAs/DPIAs end-to-end
  • Ability to translate privacy requirements into clear, practical recommendations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience in government or higher education environments
  • Exposure to data governance frameworks (classification, policies, controls)
  • Experience working alongside data, security, or architecture teams

💡 Why Apply?

  • True advisory role with influence on privacy frameworks and strategy
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders, including CDO and Architecture
  • Partner with technical specialists to drive real outcomes
  • Long-term contract
