We’re partnering with a leading insurance organisation to secure a Principal Engineer on a 12-month contract. This is a critical, high-impact role focused on strengthening technical leadership within a key API platform team.

About you:

You will act as the Senior-most technical leader within a business -facing API team, driving design, quality, and delivery across a suite of APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strong experience as a Senior/Lead/Principal .NET Engineer
  • Proven background in API design and delivery
  • Solid Azure/cloud experience (or strong readiness to work in cloud environments)
  • Ability to lead technical design and influence teams (without direct people management)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in financial services or insurance (nice to have)

Tech Environment:

  • .NET / C# (core stack)
  • Microsoft Azure (cloud + API gateway adoption)
  • API development & integration
  • DevSecOps tooling (e.g. SonarQube, Fortify, Mend)
  • Exposure to CI/CD and modern engineering practices
