Business Analyst, Power BI Focus

Location: Sydney
Rate: Up to $700 per day + GST
Start: Immediate start preferred
Contract: Until December 2027, potenital for extension
Working arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days onsite

An urgent opportunity is available for a Business Analyst to join a major federal government modernisation program, working within a high-performing Business & Technology Integration team.

This role will suit someone who is confident operating across both business and technical environments, with a strong emphasis on Power BI to drive insights, reporting, and decision-making.

What you’ll be doing

  • Analyse business processes, systems, and operating models to define current and future state solutions
  • Use Power BI to develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations that support strategic and operational decisions
  • Translate data into meaningful insights, identifying trends and performance improvements
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to gather and refine business requirements
  • Produce clear and structured documentation across business processes and system requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated business and reporting solutions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using data-backed recommendations
  • Act as a go-to for Power BI best practice within the team

What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in Business Analysis, including requirements gathering and process mapping
  • Proven capability using Power BI for reporting, dashboards, and data visualisation
  • Experience working across business and technology teams
  • Solid stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear business insights
  • Experience within government or large-scale transformation programs is highly regarded

Key requirements

  • AGSVA Baseline clearance is essential
  • Must be able to start immediately or with minimal notice
  • Must be comfortable working onsite 3 days per week
