The Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity to drive strategic portfolio outcomes within a nationally significant agency. As Portfolio Director, you will provide high-level analytical and advisory leadership, oversee complex programs of work, and influence strategic direction at executive and Board level.
Your duties will include:
- Leading and delivering a complex portfolio of work with full accountability for governance, risk and quality assurance
- Providing statistical, economic, actuarial and analytical advice to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
- Translating legislation, policy decisions and business challenges into practical modelling and strategic insights
- Setting strategic direction and managing performance for a professional team (APS4-EL2)
- Engaging and influencing stakeholders across the Agency and externally
- Presenting complex analysis and outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline
- Demonstrated ability to apply professional judgement in complex, ambiguous environments
- Experience delivering high-level statistical, analytical, economic and/or actuarial advice aligned to corporate strategy
- Proven leadership capability, including managing multidisciplinary teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence at executive level
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and enterprise business systems (CRM experience highly regarded)
