
Portfolio Analyst

The Opportunity
Reporting to the EPMO and Digital Portfolio Manager, this role plays a core part in ensuring effective portfolio management practices are upheld in supporting our digital change programme.
You’ll carry out portfolio planning, reporting, identify risk and issue dependencies, and be a key part of the team performing the portfolio governance secretariat function.
You’ll be hands on, taking ownership for the role and at times taking delivery lead responsibilities for initiatives within the portfolio.
Through your work you’ll:
- Support the delivery leads in planning and delivering their work using portfolio management tools and processes
- Coordinate the triage process for digital products and service requests
- Be proactive with continuous improvement and guide others
- Be delivery focused, building solid processes and ensuring plans are on track.
Key to your success will be your ability to manage all the plans in your portfolio, with your finger on the pulse, a keen risk radar, and ensuring accountability for the tasks allocated.
About you
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Experience in similar portfolio analyst/planner roles
- Demonstrable experience from digital portfolios, complex projects and/or programmes, with proven experience of delivering to expectations
- Knowledge of multiple best practice delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall or SDLC, and delivery management tools like Jira or Confluence
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills
- Great attention to detail combined with the ability to think ahead, see potential gaps or risks with the confidence to raise any issues
- A good degree of personal agility and adaptability, able to manage multiple pieces of work at the relevant pace.

Wellington Water is the professional water services provider across Greater Wellington and South Wairarapa.
