Your new company:

The organisation is Australia’s dedicated national regulator for heavy vehicles, focused on improving safety, consistency, and efficiency across the road freight industry. It develops and oversees standards, guidance, and regulations that support a safer, more productive transport network.

Your new role:

Reporting to the Program Lead, this role will see you ensure that the Department’s policies are accurate, accessible, and practical for all employees and stakeholders.

  • Write and update policies in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Research regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Translate complex technical and regulatory information into user-friendly language.
  • Facilitate review processes and incorporate feedback.
  • Maintain records of policy changes.
  • Develop training materials and supplementary guides (e.g., FAQs, summaries).
  • Ensure all documents meet legal and organisational standards.

What you’ll need to succeed:

We strongly encourage your application should you have demonstrated the below skills and capabilities:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with compliance and governance standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems.
  • Experience in policy writing or technical writing, preferably within Government or highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks.
  • Previous analytical or business analysis experience.
